Introduction to Richard Finn, C.M.T.P.T.

In this "Myofascial Pain" section of drlowe.com, trigger point myotherapist Richard Finn will be publishing short articles on trigger point myotherapy and related subjects.

I have known Mr. Richard Finn for many years. He and I became friends when he was President of the National Association of Trigger Point Myotherapists. He was responsible for my speaking at an annual convention of trigger point myotherapists in Denver, and for my being give an honorary life-time membership in the organization. This membership has meant a lot to me through the years, all the more because I respect trigger point myotherapists for their extraordinary clinical skills in freeing patients from myofascial trigger point pain. Their doing so depends on more than palpating for trigger points and inactivating them. These therapists also highly skilled in identifying factors that perpetuate patients' myofascial trigger point pain. And they're skilled at eliminating or controlling the factors so that they effectively free their patients from pain. Since the majority of body pains are myofascial in origin, and most of the pains arise from trigger points, trigger point myotherapists are perfectly prepared to rapidly provide their patients relief. Serving as the teacher of many myofascial trigger point therapists, and being extensively familiar with the relevant scientific studies, Richard Finn is a world-class authority on trigger point myotherapy. His writings have appeared the
Journal of Myofascial Therapy and the Clinical Bulletin of Myofascial Therapy. You can learn more about Richard a the website for The Academy for Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy.
